The design process:

Design contracts consist of preliminary and working plans.
Preliminary plans are generated through client - designer communications, most often including a site visit.
Full working drawings are developed from the preliminaries. They include detailed structural timber frame plans as well as architectural plans.
The final set of plans are complete, fully detailed, engineer certified, and permit-ready.

Because of the nature of timber frame construction, a thorough and well thought out plan is particularly important.
